Job Description

About Pinecrest Academy Pinecrest Academy is seeking a dynamic, faith-filled Head of School to lead its vibrant, Christ-centered community beginning July 2027. Pinecrest Academy is a premier independent college preparatory Catholic school situated on a beautiful, 68-acre collegiate-style campus in the Northeast Atlanta Metro area. The mission of Pinecrest is to "form Christian leaders who will transform society," a mission delivered through Integral Formation, a four-pillared approach to educating the whole child: Intellectual (mind), Spiritual (Christ-centered), Apostolic (service), and Human (leadership cultivation and virtues). In keeping with this mission, Pinecrest is known for its joyful and welcoming community and its commitment to both excellence and faith, believing these are deeply interconnected. Located in Cumming, Georgia, Pinecrest Academy serves students from PreK3 through grade 12, providing a rigorous liberal arts education rooted in Catholic faith and guided by the Regnum Christi educational philosophy. Through a strong partnership with families, Pinecrest seeks to form students who are intellectually prepared, spiritually grounded, and committed to lives of service and leadership. The school community is distinguished by its culture of joyful discipleship, academic rigor, leadership development, and deep commitment to faith formation. Students are encouraged to pursue excellence in academics, athletics, arts, and apostolic service while growing in virtue and character within a nurturing and mission-driven environment. The Opportunity The next Head of School will serve as the chief executive and spiritual leader of Pinecrest Academy, guiding the school's mission, culture, and long-term strategic vision. In partnership with school leadership, faculty, staff, families, and the Board, the Head of School will steward Pinecrest's continued growth while strengthening its Catholic identity, academic excellence, operational vitality, and community engagement. Key areas of impact include: Mission & Catholic Identity: Joyfully model and advance Pinecrest's Catholic mission; foster a culture of Integral Formation; support the spiritual life and faith formation of students, faculty, and families. Strategic Leadership: Lead the continued implementation of long-range priorities; position Pinecrest for sustained growth and institutional excellence; cultivate innovation while honoring the school's traditions and mission. Academic & Institutional Excellence: Champion a rigorous liberal arts, college-preparatory education; support instructional leadership and student outcomes across all divisions; ensure alignment between mission and educational practice. Advancement & Community Relations: Serve as a visible ambassador for Pinecrest within the broader community; strengthen enrollment, philanthropy, and constituent engagement; build strong relationships with current and prospective families, alumni, benefactors, and community partners. Operational & Organizational Leadership: Oversee institutional operations and stewardship of resources; support strong governance practices; ensure effective collaboration among academic, operational, and advancement leadership teams. The Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will be a practicing Catholic and visionary leader who deeply embraces and joyfully witnesses to the mission of Pinecrest Academy. The next Head of School will possess demonstrated leadership experience within Catholic or mission-driven educational environments and will be skilled in strategic leadership, community engagement, advancement, and organizational management. This individual will be an inspiring communicator and relationship-builder who fosters trust, collaboration, and unity across the school community. Grounded in faith and guided by a spirit of servant leadership, the successful candidate will steward Pinecrest's continued growth while preserving and advancing the distinctive culture, excellence, and joyful mission that define the Academy. Interested candidates are encouraged to review the detailed search prospectus and reach out to Kyle Pietrantonio directly to learn about this exciting leadership opportunity. The search committee is on a fast-track to identify and secure the next Head of School.
