Key responsibilities this position will perform include:

  1. Utilize hospital contacts and EMR access to request and retrieve donor medical records for review by tissue recovery partners.

  1. Facilitate requests for data and medical record documentation from hospitals, medical examiners, coroner's facilities, and other external entities, adhering to regulatory and accreditation requirements as well as internal DCIDS Policy and Procedure.

  2. Receive, compile, and integrate appropriate documents within donor records as necessary for the sharing of donor information.

  3. Communicate effectively with departmental staff and recovery partners to provide donor medical history information as needed.

  4. Cultivate strong customer relationships with external entities including hospitals, EMS, pharmacies, primary care specialists, and coroner offices.

  5. Attend departmental and leadership team meetings as appropriate.

  6. Work independently or collaboratively on special projects as assigned by departmental leadership.

  7. Perform other duties as assigned by departmental leadership.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in Quality Assurance, medical records, or related health fields, or equivalent work experience required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of healthcare field experience with knowledge of Health Information Management and Electronic Medical Records preferred.
  • Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the OPO industry or healthcare sector preferred.
  • Effective communication skills with personnel at all levels and external providers, with the ability to function as a team member required.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail required.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Word, Excel, Power Point.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
